The Municipality of Roblin invites applications for an Accounting/Finance position.

 

Under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer, the successful candidate will perform a variety of accounting and computer duties.  Therefore, this position requires a person that:

  • has a post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting or a minimum of five years of accounting/bookkeeping experience;
  • CPA designation or graduate of, or willing to enroll in, the Manitoba Municipal Administrators' course through the University of Manitoba;
  • has strong computer skills and uses standard business software (including operating systems, word processing programs, and databases) in a networked computer environment to produce clear, concise reports;
  • possesses strong organizational skills;
  • has effective oral and written communication skills; and
  • is self-motivated, able to work with minimum supervision, and able to work well with others.

Misc. Opportunities


The Municipality is seeking energetic, self-motivated, and responsible youth, aged 15 to 29 years old, to join our team this summer to fill positions through the Home Town Green Team program for Grounds Maintenance (three positions) within the Municipality including the Parks and Recreation Department and for the Administration Office (one position).  

 

The main focus for the Grounds Maintenance will be the upkeep of municipal green space areas as needed. A valid driver's licence is required.   The focus of the Administration Office will be updating municipal documents.

Roblin is situated in a very unique area with employment opportunities in farming, logging, nursing, home care, truck driving as well as retail and service.

The local Parkway Co-Op has recently constructed a new grocery store which is conveniently located next to their gas station.  Both locations often have various job openings, check out their link to see if something is the right fit for you: Parkway Co-Op.

The recent large expansion of a local pig barn East of Roblin has prompted the need for more full time employees. Please email Canmark Family Farming:   canmark2@inetlink.ca    for more information or to send a resume.

Other potential employers, such as Wendell Estate Honey Farm, often use sights such as Workopolis, Monster and Indeed as well as the website of the Regional Employment Center  located in Russell, MB.  Check out the employment center's facebook page for other opportunities in the area.
