NOTICE OF BURNING BAN

Effective 08:00 AM – May 29, 2025
No burning of any kind, including fireworksis permitted throughout the Municipality of Roblin until further notice. All current burn permits are suspended or cancelled, and no new permits will be issued until further notice.

The following exceptions apply:

a) Approved Personal firepits (enclosed on all sides, covered with a non-combustible grate or mesh, and located on a non-combustible base clear of overhangs) — Permitted between 8:00 PM and 8:00 AM only, must be enclosed and used with extreme caution.
b) Gas appliances (e.g., BBQs) 
— Permitted at any time, provided that all standard fire safety precautions are followed.

Failure to adhere to this ban may result in fines under The Municipality's By-law to protect life and property damages by fire and regulate burning.

This ban is in place to mitigate wildfire risk during current dry conditions. Your cooperation is essential to community safety.

The Municipality of Roblin is home to a strong network of education providers offering opportunities for learners of all ages—from early years to adult education. While schools and learning programs are administered independently, these services are located within our boundaries and play an important role in supporting residents and families across the region.

Roblin Elementary School (RES)

Roblin Elementary School, operated by the Mountain View School Division, serves students from Kindergarten to Grade 8. It offers a full Manitoba curriculum, including literacy, numeracy, French, music, and physical education. The school also supports diverse learning needs through classroom and resource-based services. A range of activities, spirit days, and athletics provide students with both academic and social development.

Goose Lake High School (GLH)

Goose Lake High School offers programming for Grades 9 to 12 and provides a broad selection of courses across core academics, applied skills, trades, and electives. Career planning, student support services, and extracurricular options such as athletics and student leadership help prepare students for post-secondary education or entry into the workforce. GLH is also part of the Mountain View School Division.

LEARN (Lifelong Education for Adults: Reading & Numeracy)

LEARN is a volunteer-run adult education organization based in Roblin, offering accessible learning opportunities for adults seeking to improve literacy, math, or life skills. LEARN provides individualized programming, delivered confidentially and at no cost or low cost.

Programs include:
  • Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC) preparation

  • Mature Student High School Diploma courses

  • Literacy and life skills instruction

  • Independent study access with computers and internet

  • Family literacy (Time for Me)

  • English as an Additional Language (EAL)

  • Computer classes and community workshops

  • Testing and proctoring services

LEARN operates independently with the support of local volunteers and regional partnerships.
