NOTICE OF BURNING BAN

Effective 08:00 AM – May 29, 2025
No burning of any kind, including fireworksis permitted throughout the Municipality of Roblin until further notice. All current burn permits are suspended or cancelled, and no new permits will be issued until further notice.

The following exceptions apply:

a) Approved Personal firepits (enclosed on all sides, covered with a non-combustible grate or mesh, and located on a non-combustible base clear of overhangs) — Permitted between 8:00 PM and 8:00 AM only, must be enclosed and used with extreme caution.
b) Gas appliances (e.g., BBQs) 
— Permitted at any time, provided that all standard fire safety precautions are followed.

Failure to adhere to this ban may result in fines under The Municipality's By-law to protect life and property damages by fire and regulate burning.

This ban is in place to mitigate wildfire risk during current dry conditions. Your cooperation is essential to community safety.

Big Game - Big Fun

With the abundance of forests and wooded area, Manitoba's Parkland is a hunter's paradise.  Roblin area is home to big game such as elk, moose, white tail deer, black bear and wolf.  Many big game sportsmen successfully hunt the Duck Mountain forest and surrounding valley area to accomplish a variety of choice large game species.  Good planning and good hunting gear is a good idea, but hunting a reliable zone produces results. 

Wealth of Waterfowl

The countless lakes and natural pot holes landscaping the Parkland and surrounding prairie valleys and agricultural lands make the Roblin area a magnet for geese, ducks and other migratory waterfowl.  As the migratory birds fly in and take ownership of numerous seed and grain fields post harvest, many sportsmen from abroad flock to the Parkland to scout prime spots and lay claim to an unparalleled waterfowl experience.

East & West Goose Lake

Scenic trophy trout lakes located right in town and stocked annually with rainbow and brown trout is how Roblin became know as the Fly-fishing Capital of Manitoba....that and the thousands of visitors who return to fly-fish the Parkland year after year and use Roblin as their home base.  East & West Goose Lakes are both located within Roblin off of Hwy 83 South.  Electric motor, aerated fishing lakes that offer trophy Rainbow and Brown trout as well as walleye.  Each lake features a boat launch, docks, and a walking trail with fishing spots to access.

Northern Lakes

Duck Mountain Provincial Park neighbours Roblin and is home to an abundant resource of lakes as well as numerous different species of fish.

West Blue Lake - located in Duck Mountain Provincial Park right next to East Blue Lake, West Blue Lake offers Walleye, Perch, and Lake and Brook trout.  This is also a great lake for boating, swimming and camping.

East Blue Lake - located in Duck Mountain Provincial Park, East Blue Lake offers Rainbow Trout, Splake and Lake trout.  This is also a great lake for boating, swimming and camping.

Childs Lake - Located in Duck Mountain Provincial Park.  Walleye, Perch, Pike, Splake and Lake trout.  This is also a great lake for boating, swimming and camping.

Laurie Lake - Located in Duck Mountain Provincial Park, Laurie Lake offers Lake and Brown Trout, Splake, Pike and Perch.

Wellman Lake - Located in Duck Mountain Provincial Park, Wellman Lake offers Walleye, Pike, Perch, and Smallmouth Bass.
