Situation Report - 07-02/2026 20:00 hrs

Administrative Operations

- If your home, business, or property has sustained flood damage, please report it to the Municipality at https://roblin.ca/2026flood
- Residents in low-lying or flood-prone areas should continue to have medications, identification, important documents, chargers, and a few days of essentials ready in case conditions change.
- If you have self-evacuated or choose to self-evacuate due to flooding, please report your evacuation by completing the Emergency Social Services registration form at www.roblin.ca/ess This helps the Municipality know who has evacuated, where they are staying, and how to contact them if conditions change.
- If your private well may have been affected by flooding, do not drink the water until it has been properly disinfected and tested. Water testing kits remain available at the Municipal Office during regular business hours while supplies last.
- Administrative staff continue working around the clock to monitor changing conditions, coordinate resources, and support emergency response operations.

Urban Operations

- Crews are continuing to make progress on 6th Avenue, with work advancing steadily. If conditions continue to cooperate, we are hopeful this area will be substantially complete within the next couple of days, or sooner.
- Pumping operations continue at both West Goose Lake and East Goose Lake to help reduce water levels.
- Pumping operations near Maple Street are nearing completion.
Water levels around the lift station continue to improve; however, residents are still asked to reduce unnecessary water use wherever possible to help lessen the load on the wastewater system.
- The Roblin Fire Department has been pumping water from the area of 2nd Avenue NW and 3rd Avenue NW throughout the day. A portable pump remains in operation at 2nd Street and 6th Avenue NW, moving water east toward 4th Avenue. These operations will continue overnight, with conditions being reassessed at approximately 8:00 a.m. tomorrow morning.

Rural Operations

- Big Boggy Creek continues to slowly recede.
- Washouts have developed on both approaches to the PR 593 bridge, and crews are actively completing repairs.
- The new access road for the Makaroff area is expected to be passable for emergency services by nightfall.
- Tomorrow, crews will continue widening and raising the new road, with the goal of applying traffic gravel on Saturday.
- Contractors will begin repairs on Merridale Road, allowing gravel hauling to begin from that location for repairs to additional municipal roads.
- Once the new Makaroff access road is opened, detour signage will be installed

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

- Please continue to reduce water use as much as possible. While water remains available for essential household purposes, every litre you can save helps reduce the strain on our wastewater system. If it can wait, please let it wait.
- Stay clear of heavy equipment and semi-trucks operating throughout Town. Our crews and contractors need room to work safely and efficiently. Please do not stop or park near active work sites.
- Avoid unnecessary travel on municipal roads. Rural road conditions continue to change hour by hour. Due to the rapidly changing conditions and limited resources, not every hazard or closure can be signed immediately. If you absolutely must travel, slow down, stay alert, and never assume a road is safe simply because it is open.
- Please do not travel to flooding areas just to have a look. We understand people are curious; however, extra traffic creates unnecessary hazards and slows emergency operations. Giving crews space to work helps everyone.
- Barricades are there for a reason. Do not move, remove, or drive around barricades. They are placed to protect you, even if the road appears passable.
- Stay out of floodwater. Water may be deeper than it appears, roads can be washed out underneath, and moving water is stronger than it looks.
- Watch for emergency vehicles. Fire, Public Works, contractors, and heavy equipment are operating throughout the Municipality at all hours. Expect delays and be prepared to yield.
- Be patient. We understand everyone wants their road reopened or water removed first. Crews are prioritizing work based on public safety, protection of critical infrastructure, emergency access, and where efforts will have the greatest impact.
