Removal of Water Restrictions
The Municipality is lifting the request for reduced water use as conditions at the lift stations continue to improve. Thank you to everyone who reduced their water use. Your cooperation made a significant difference while the system was under extreme pressure!
The Municipality also wants to remind residents that an upgrade to the lift station was already underway, including new pumps and the related electrical infrastructure.
On March 18, 2025, all property owners within the urban area were mailed notice of Council's intention to undertake the project as a local improvement. A public hearing was held on April 16, 2025; nine objections were recorded through the public hearing process. Following the hearing, Council gave first reading to By-law 4-25 and submitted the required documentation to The Municipal Board. The Municipal Board approved the by-law on June 26, 2025. On September 23, 2025, Council accepted a professional services proposal from WSP. Since then, WSP has been working with the Municipality and municipal staff on the design of the upgrade and selection of the required equipment, including appropriately sized pumps and additional electrical infrastructure.
Provided the project continues as planned, the lift station upgrade is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
The Municipality is continuing to monitor the system while moving forward with infrastructure improvements intended to strengthen its capacity and reliability.
